Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa

In 2021  Jan Dlugosz University of Humanities and Sciences in Częstochowa celebrates its 50th anniversary. The history
of the University goes back to 1971. As the result of a decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland,
a Teachers’ College (WSN) was established in Czestochowa. This historical decision was of great importance for Częstochowa and the whole region. In 1974 the WSN was transformed into the Higher Pedagogical School. Very important events in the history of the University include: the change of the name of the University from the Pedagogical School in Częstochowa to Jan Długosz Academy (October 1, 2004) and the transformation of Jan Długosz Academy into at Jan Dlugosz University of Humanities and Sciences (June 1, 2018). During 50 years of its existence, the University has significantly developed. It currently consists of six faculties: Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Natural and Technical Sciences, Law and Economics, Health Sciences and Arts. He joins the structure of UJD and also the Department of Foreign Languages and the Department of Physical Education and Sport. The university authorities are closely monitoring the political and social changestaking place in Poland, Europe and the world, adapting the educational offer to quicklychanging needs of the environment. A strong point of the University is the developed cooperation with various research and development centers in the country and abroad, which results in exchange programs of students and academic staff as well as jointly implemented research projects.
